Armament Mechanic – Potential Vacancy


There is a potential vacancy for armament mechanics to start in 2012.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the lead armament supervisor, performs initial inspections, and quality assurance for the full range of work involved in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of small arms and accessories.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Ensures that Organisational, and DS/GS level repairs on small arms such as pistols, rifles, shotgun carbines, submachine and machine guns, and other accessories such as mounts, bayonets and tripods are completed in a timely manner to standard. Performs the full range of work involved in the maintenance and repair of small arms. Makes initial acceptance inspection, which consists of diagnosis and location of mechanical deficiencies and malfunctions of small arms and accessories. Performs complete disassembly; completely checks all parts by visual, gauge or operational means. Determines exact nature of repairs required. Replaces broken or worn parts in accordance with specifications of technical manuals and bulletins. Reassembles completely, and performs quality assurance functions. Modifies weapons by replacing obsolete parts and/or assemblies in accordance with DA modification work orders. Uses hand and machine tools, precision gauges and test instruments, and jigs and alignment devices in making repairs, modifications and adjustments. Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
High School graduate or equivalent with formal military or civilian training in small arms repair.

EXPERIENCE:
Five-years experience in small arms and accessory repairs or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Summary:

  1. Performs PMCS on designated vehicles IAW current PIOP or as instructed.
  2. Perform proper rigging for a variety of equipment loads.
  3. Helps and assist in the tie down of equipment, cargo, ground guiding, and recovery of equipment being loaded and downloaded.
  4. Performs minor repairs on section vehicles to include equipment being uploaded/downloaded from convoys, or vessels, or moved from areas/yards/to piers or movement within or external to the camp, or any ASG Kuwait location as directed.
  5. Assists other drivers in similar duties as specified leads and supervisor.
  6. Leads convoys, escorts trucks as instructed by Leads/Supervisor.
  7. Reports problems/Discrepancies with vehicles, uploads/downloads to Leads and/or Supervisor for disposition.

TC -AIMS Clerk


JOB LOCATION: Kuwait

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the TC-AIMS Lead in the Supply Department the TC-AIMS Technician,  provides the capabilities to create and maintain organizational equipment list (OEL), unit deployment list (UDL), create conveyances requirements,  print military shipping labels (MSLs), write radio frequency tags (RF Tags), produce movement documentations, and interface with other automated transportation systems; water port system (WPS), global transportation network (GTN) etc.  The candidate’s background  should include Transportation Planning, Transportation Procurement , Route Planning, Transportation Management, asset visibility and tracking, shipping and logistics. Good oral and written skills are required.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES
1. Create TCAIMS Plans based on requirements
2. Create TCNs and the necessary transportation documents, print MSLs, burn RF Tags and upload to the ITV serve
3. Create Unit Deployment Lists (UDLs) from the OEL and ensure that the associations, secondary loads and container loads are done in the OEL.
4. Import JFRG II data into TC-AIMS II, when required and export TC-AIMS II data to JFRG II,

when required.

5. Provide oversite of TC-AIMS section to ensure personnel are in compliance with all policies and government regulation
6. Performs other duties assigned.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

2.    Performs daily preventive maintenance checks and services and maintains equipment logs.
3.    Plans and executes the on and off loading of different types of military and commercial equipment.
4.    Maintains all points of contacts for all GSU missions on installation for movement support.
5.    Performs all other duties as prescribed by the supervisor
