Heavy Equipment Operator

JOB LOCATION: Kuwait

POSITION SUMMARY:
Work under the direct supervision of the Heavy Equipment Operator Lead for the Garrison Support Unit (GSU). Operates up to 60 ton crane, commercial and military tractor trailer and maintains and operates all types and sizes of winches, hoists, cranes, and forklifts. Loads and unloads supplies and equipment from docks. Enforces safety practices and documents all procedures. Must maintain a CDL Driver’s License.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1.    Reports any maintenance or operational discrepancies to Movement Lead.
2.    Performs daily preventive maintenance checks and services and maintains equipment logs.
3.    Plans and executes the on and off loading of different types of military and commercial equipment.
4.    Maintains all points of contacts for all GSU missions on installation for movement support.
5.    Performs all other duties as prescribed by the supervisor

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and AWRDS.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published company work rules.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:  High School graduate or equivalent. Commercial driver’s license required.  Must be able to comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, Company Policies, and work rules.

Experience:  One-three years of heavy equipment operations; tractor trailer, LMTV’s, UMVEES.  Mobile military and commercial. Eighty hour Hazmat course.

Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) – 12 Month Contract with potential extension

We specialize in the painting of military vehicles in Kuwait and Germany. We are currently looking to recruit a number of Mechanics to join our team in Kuwait as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanic with experience of working on heavy vehicles.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing servicing, repairs and overhauls on combat vehicle equipment and heavy construction equipment.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- engineering experience, working on heavy vehicles
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- a good level of computer literacy, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook

The ideal Mechanic will also have a background in working with military vehicles.

Instrument/Fire Control Repairer

SALARY:Hourly Rate $26.26 – 72 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY:
Inspects, cleans, repairs and modifies line replaceable units and other components utilized on combat vehicles. Identifies isolates, troubleshoots, and repairs malfunctions using appropriate procedures and applicable technical manuals, TMDE, and tools.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  1. Troubleshoots and isolates system malfunctions utilizing technical manuals, schematic diagrams, special and standard electronic and mechanical TMDE.
  2. Performs corrective maintenance on previously diagnosed malfunctions on fire control systems used in combat vehicles, off-carriage lasers, designators, thermal sights, and night vision devices.
  3. Designs, fabricates and adapts tools and fixtures to facilitate further fire control instrument repairs or as new types of fire control equipment is adopted by the Army.
  4. May instruct other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of fire control LRU instruments and TMDE.
  5. Performs other duties and assignments as required.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Fire Control tool box, TM’s, Multi-meter and DESESTS and special tools need for to accomplish the task.

M2 Bradley Systems Mechanic

POSITION SUMMARY:
As an integral member of the Army Prepositioned Stock (APS-5 KU) maintenance team, the candidate responsibility is to perform maintenance on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System. Maintainer handles the hull, turret and maintenance and repair of the M2/M3, A2/A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the M6 Bradley Linebacker Air Defense Vehicle and the M-7 Bradley Fire Support Team Vehicle.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions and performs organizational maintenance and on-board direct support tasks on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle suspension systems, steering systems, fire extinguisher/suppression systems, gas particulate systems, vehicular mounted armament, and associated fire control systems. Previous automotive experience a plus

  1. Candidate must also possess knowledge in the use of technical manuals, schematics, Safety of use Messages (SOUM), Maintenance Advisory Messages (MAM), FedLog, and AWRDS
  2. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  3. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  4. Must be able to qualify for and able to secure and maintain a US Passport for deployment.

Communications Electronics Mechanic

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  1. Performs full range of overhaul repair and service of electronic equipment at the intermediate levels of maintenance.
  2. Acts on work schedules, sequence of operations and distribution of work. Completes and should be capable of explaining work assignments, methods and procedures. Gives technical advice on new or changed procedures and assists with resolving problems.
  3. Completes work in progress, conforming to standards and requirements.
  4. Uses technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all work in progress.
  5. Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions.

  7. Orders required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals and/or automated systems. Tests overhauled/repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.

Lead Welder

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Allied Trades Supervisor, Welder performs journeyman level Arc, Tig, Mig, & Oxygen/Acetylene welding, Brazing, Oxygen & Acetylene cutting, Carbon-arc cutting/gouging, Plasma Arc cutting on a wide array of military vehicles & customer requested metal fabrications IAW Army Technical manuals & AWS Welding Code requirements. Also performs metal fabrication as directed.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  1. Oversees Welders performing SMAW, GMAW, GTAW Welding & Metal Fabrications, ensures the work performed is IAW applicable Army Regulations, Technical Manual & Industry Standards.
  2. Performs journeyman level welding/cutting & metal fabrication in the Allied Trades Welding Shop & Field support welding/fabrication/repairs as required.
  3. Reads blueprints, sketches and modification orders to plan the process and layout to be performed in an expeditious, economical and effective manner.
  4. Fabricates metal products per technical drawings or customer provided samples by welding/cutting/fabricating various metals.
  5. Repairs a wide array of military equipment utilizing welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
  6. Cleans & Prepares surfaces to be welded. Set up, assembles, and tack welds fabricated metal parts.
  7. Builds up worn or defective surfaces as required.
  8. Utilizes Oxygen/Acetylene, Carbon Arc, Plasma cutting equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape. Perform Demill operations as required.
  9. Operate/maintain electric hand/pneumatic power tools, i.e. grinders, sanders, needle guns, drills, saws, metal shears & shop supported fabrication equipment.
  10. Operate/maintain GFE: i.e. portable welding equipment, air compressors, and forklift.
  11. Maintain records of worked performed
  12. Responsible for observing all current ES&H and fire regulations.
  13. Maintain a safe work area by setting up appropriate welding screens, warning devices, and proper vehicle/equipment placement.
  14. Assists in maintaining adequate stockage of bench/shop stock supplies.
  15. Prepares necessary paperwork detailing labor and supplies used for job orders.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Must be familiar with the requirements in TM 38-470 and other applicable regulations.  Must be willing to work any shift and may be assigned to offsite locations.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  1. Will receive, inventory and process Class II, IV, VII Supplies and Equipment.
  2. Will work with and in conjunction with other Supply Department sections to accomplish all required taskings or inventories.
  3. Will monitor and evaluate work performance of the personnel to ensure they are in compliance with the Statement of Work and all Army regulations pertaining to their assigned tasking.
  4. Will insure that all employees are always in compliance with all established ITT Policies and Army Regulations.
